What was most significant about the lunar voyage was not that men set foot on the moon but that they set eye on the earth. ~Norman Cousins
Fifth Grade Seminar:
The study of archaeology and anthropology provides students the opportunity to investigate how man has interacted with his environment over time. By investigating civilizations and cultures both past and present, students discover an understanding of patterns common to all cultures and see the similarities of each are greater than the differences. The second half of the school year, we choose an ancient civilization to explore. By learning the fundamental elements of a past culture, the students can then create their own civilization to share at the Seminar Expo on May 23th. Ms. Bisaccia's homeroom will meet on Tuesdays from 1:20 - 3:20. Ms. Labowitz's and Mrs. Montgomery's homerooms will meet on Mondays from 1:20 - 3:20. It should be a fabulous year!
