Haverford High School is proud to announce Katrina Geiger and Shane Ryan have accepted Athletic Scholarships! Katrina will be attending Loyola in Maryland to play Lacrosse next year. Katrina is a currently a three sport athlete at Haverford; Soccer, Basketball, and Lacrosse. In her Junior year she was elected as a high school All American and has been listed by ESPNHS Girls Top 10 Midfielders in the nation. This past soccer season Katrina was selected 1st Team All Central in Soccer, which adds to her prior years selection to All Central in Lacrosse. We wish Katrina the best in her future academic and athletic career at Loyola. Parents Kathleen and Alan Geiger, Katrina Geiger, and Nancy McGolderick, Girl's Varsity Lacrosse Coach On Tuesday, November 15, Senior Swimmer Shane Ryan signed a national letter of intent to attend Penn State University and compete for the Nittany Lion Swimming and Diving team. Shane, the reigning 2-time Central League Swimmer of the Year, has earned accolades as a 10-time All-American for various events over his career. He recently finished in 26th place at U.S. Nationals in August in his signature event, the 100-Meter Backstroke. He is currently a member of the U.S. National Youth Team, which features swimmers who hold Top 6 times in their respective events compared to their peers, nationally. Shane has qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials, which will be held in Omaha, Nebraska, in June, 2012. Parents Mary Beth and Thomas Ryan, Shane Ryan, and Varsity Swim Coach Matt Stewart. |
