Advisory The Advisory Program will be held every Tuesday & Thursday, after 3rd period. Students are assigned to an Advisory group of approximately 20 students based on their homeroom assignment.Through the Advisory program, students will develop a connection with an adult advisor separate from the academic team.
Objectives of the Advisory:
* HMS will . . .
o Improve its overall climate and culture
* Over the course of three years every HMS student will . . .
o engage in goal-setting & self-assessment
o have a sense of connection to one adult
o belong to a peer group
o develop a sense of school pride
o see the connection between success in school and options in the future
o adjust more effectively to each grade
o learn to be more self-aware, self-managed, and self-directed
