Actor's Workshop
 
If improv is your thing then you need to join Actor's Workshop. See Mr. Langin for all the details.
 
Art Club
 
Art Club is an after school activity open to all grades.  Art Club starts on November 13 and will meet on Tuesday afternoons from 2:40- 3:45 in Room 56 until the end of April.  Every month we will be working with different processes and materials to give the students a wide variety of projects.
November: Drawing and painting: watercolors, tempera paints, oil pastels colored pencils; December: Printmaking; January: Ceramics; February: Paper crafts; March: Fabric arts; April: 3-Dimensional work and Sculpture.  Please see Mrs. Hagerty with any questions.
 
Bowling Club 
 
Have you ever gone bowling?  If you would like to try bowling for the first time, or if you are an experienced bowler, the Haverford Bowling Club is for you.  For just $6 you get transportation to and from Wynnewood Lanes, and get to bowl at least 2 games.  Come with your permission slip  to room 279 to join this club. See Mr. Burkhimer, room 277, or Mrs. O'Grady, room 279 with any questions.
 
Gaming Club

Looking for something to do in the afternoon?  Gaming Club will start on Thursday, Dec. 1 right after school in room 279.  Bring a game, bring a friend, or come by yourself and use the games that Mrs. O'Grady provides.  You need a permission form to stay.  Come and check it out. See Mrs. O'Grady with any questions.

Gold Team
 
This club is open to 8th grade students who meet certain physical education and service requirements. The teachers of the Physical Education Department will provide information about this club. See Mr. Tallon, in the boys gym office, or Mr. Brocklesby, in room 050, with any questions.
 
Homework Club
 
Homework Club will begin on Monday, October 3rd and continues until the end of May.  This is an opportunity for students who are in need of extra support.  Students will be able to receive assistance in homework, studying, projects, and organizational skills.  We meet Monday through Thursday from 2:40 until 3:20.  This club is sponsored by Mr. Finnegan and Mrs. Gerber.  Students who are interested in participating should obtain a parent permission slip from their Team Leader.
 
International Club
 
We look forward to sharing about cultures and languages around the world including foods, music, architecture, customs, and games. See Mrs. Alls with any questions.

GarageBand
 
Do you play an instrument such as the guitar, bass or drums? Would you like to meet other musicians in the school and perform songs in front of an audience? If so, Mr. Huth’s Garage Band Club is the place for you! The club meets after school for up to two days per week.  Attendance is not mandatory unless the performance is near.  
You will have opportunities to meet other musicians in the school in the hopes of forming a band. 
You will have the opportunity to play for an audience during our music talent showcase.
You will have the opportunity to share music with people in the club. See Mr. Huth in room 284 with any questions.
 
Newspaper - Middle School Express
 
Haverford Middle School publishes its newspaper several times each year. Students participate as editors. reports, photographers and artists to assemble the Express for distribution to the student body. See Mrs. Muckley in room, 218 or Mrs. Weiner in room 204 with any questions.

Robotics Club - Top Guns
 
Haverford Middle School’s robotic program, introduces students to the engineering process and the concepts associated with designing and building a robot to complete a task. Please see Mr. Corsi with any questions.
 
 
Calling all giants of science! Are you ready to mix productivity with creativity? Oh yes, it is that time of year again, the Science Olympiad is in dire need of your expertise and cunning mind strength. We need your help to tackle some of the most interesting and wacky projects they could come up with. If you feel like you are up for a challenge, pushing yourself and achieving great things, this would be the place for you.
 
 
Everyone is welcome, no prior ski experience is necessary. Ski club meetings are mandatory and include safety instructions from the Mountain Ski Patrol.  Meetings will be held after school. Our first meeting will be Wed, November 30. 
Ski Trip dates are Feb 13, 14  and March 1st.

Smudge
 
Smudge, the literary magazine of Haverford Middle School, will hold its meetings on the following dates: Tues. Nov. 13, Tues. Dec. 11, Tues. Jan. 8, Tues. Jan 22, Tues. Feb. 5, Tues. Feb. 19, Tues. Mar. 5, Tues. Mar. 19, Tues. Apr. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30.
Unless otherwise announced, all meetings will be in the library computer lab from 2:45-3:30. All are welcome to attend. Please see Ms. McFadden or Mrs. Irwin. with any questions. Hope to see you there!
 
 
HMSTC has been a springboard for many of students here at HMS, intriguing interests and leading them toward experiences that last a lifetime.  Students take on many theatrical roles as actors, dancers, singers, stage crew, tech crew, and production staff, as it takes many hands and many talents to create a quality theatrical production.
 
 
Haverford Middle School broadcasts the morning announcements to the classrooms, as well as other school wide activities or information. Students participate as directors, camera operators, teleprompters, editiors and anchors. Students must be able to arrive at school at 7:30 am to participate in the morning broadcast. Please see Mrs. VanTrieste with any questions.
 
 
Haverford Middle School publishes its own yearbook, which is professionally printed and distributed at the end of the school year. Students participate as editors, reporters, photographers and artists to assemble the yearbook before its submission to the printer.
