Concert Master David Kim Visits HHS
Concert Master of the Philadelphia Orchestra since 1999, David Kim was born in Carbondale, Illinois. He started playing the violin at the age of three, began studies with the famed artist Dorothy DeLay at the age of eight, and later received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Julliard School.
Mr. Kim devotes a portion of his schedule each year to bringing classical music to children. He also visits hundreds of children in the Philadelphia area each season and conducts master classes around the United States at schools such as the Manhattan and Yale schools of music and well as the Curtis Institute of Music. On Friday, December 3rd, Haverford was honored as Mr. Kim shared his knowledge and expertise with Joe Brennan’s Orchestra students.
